What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a natural and very common state of mind which everybody automatically drifts in and out of 50-200 times per day. What makes it distinctive from other therapies is that it attempts to address the client’s subconscious mind. The Hypnotherapist usually requires the client to be in a relaxed state and utilises a wide range of techniques including story telling, metaphors and symbolism that are appropriate and meaningful to the individual client’s needs. It is generally considered helpful if the client is personally motivated to change and has a belief in the possibility of change. Hypnotherapy can help you let go of old habits, fears and phobias that may have been restricting the quality and enjoyment of your life.
What does hypnosis feel like?
People experience hypnosis in many different ways. Some clients feel sleepy and ‘dreamy’, others feel fully alert and wide awake; some may feel as if they are floating, on the edge of sleep, but for all it appears to be a physically pleasant and deeply relaxing experience. Many clients report feeling refreshed and energised afterwards, as if they had just awoken from a restful sleep. Clients remain able to move or speak as they wish at all times during hypnosis.
Can anybody be hypnotised?
Yes, most people can be hypnotised as long as they want to be. A Hypnotherapist cannot make or persuade you to go into hypnosis against your will.
Will I know what is happening?
Yes, hypnosis is perfectly safe. It is a natural, heightened state of physical relaxation and cannot harm you.
How many sessions will I need?
Hypnotherapy, because it addresses issues simply and directly is considered a ‘rapid therapy’, therefore, most clients require between two and five sessions, but this can vary. An approximate idea of how many sessions are required is usually established within the first session. Some issues such as Relaxation can usually be resolved in one session.
How much will it cost?
For a limited period only the cost is £35 per hour. Initial Consultation is free.
